Missions Updates

Dearest Family and Friends. . .

Greetings! We pray that you will prosper in all things and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. We just want to say a big "thank you" for sending the youth team last month. It is an answer to so many of our prayers and a real blessing and encouragement to our weary soul. Somehow I felt like I am young once again. . .their enthusiasm and passion for the ministry - working though most of them got sick, and some even plans to be back lifts our spirit. Not to discount though God's encouraging presence and His words that He abundantly showers us whenever we come to Him for refreshment, the presence of the team made our work easier and bearable in this trying time.

Though I am busy with the youth team last month, the Mangyan Kalakbay staff continued on with what we usually do and I give praises to our Father that he provides strength, wisdom and grace for our ministry team here. In Lagunlong where we had the new school facilities, our Mangyan teacher is doing the teaching there, but with consultation from the local school here and prayers we are now looking at asking one of the teachers from the local school to help Jonathan - our Mangyan teacher because there are some requirements that our government's education department are looking for our students to be eligible to transfer to a local school in the future. So we thank God that He provided for this teacher to help us out, but it also means we needed to give her love-gift for her transportation in going to the village. Please we ask that you'll pray with us regarding this - thank you.

Our scholars here in the office are doing well at school. We also give them bible study in addition to their school work. We thank God that we are also able to reach out to their parents, on weekends their parents (some, not all of them) come to pick their kids to go back to their village, but we ask them if they can come earlier while their kids are still in school for bible study and they willingly do. So we are very happy for every opportunity we have to share God's love. Please pray for these parents, that their faith will be strengthened and that they will desire to share the good news into their villages - thank you.

Since the rainy season is here once again, our scholars here in the office plus the little ones in the village who go to the local school needs some protection from rain. . .and maybe vitamins to strengthen their immunity and fight off colds and cough during rainy seasons. It is very easy for them to catch viruses because of their weak immune system. We are also praying and working on opportunity for a medical mission this month. We already have another foundation to give the medicines, we do not have doctors yet. . .we are asking the local health office to lend us some doctors on 20th Aug - the day we are planning our medical mission. Please pray for favours and for doctors to willingly give up their rest day for this medical mission - thank you.

Our own children are doing ok. . .we praise and thank the Lord for providing for their school fees for this term. . .Mae & Marc are fully paid now; Diana still owes 30% but we still have time, we have until September to pray for it. Mae is attending international youth forum in another island while Diana just finished team building with her student council team just here in Manila. Marc has to work harder on his subjects, so no time for him to go anywhere else but school, home, school, and back home to study harder. Lily is enjoying herself, the livelihood team she was looking after does not meet every day now because the place where they used to meet is now being used as a pre-school, but the friendship built with the mothers are getting stronger, they meet twice a week for bible study. Please pray for strength, good health and provision for our family - thank you so much dear friends for all your prayers.

Sincerely,

Danny & family
