- We have operated as a ministry of St Peters in the City since the
mid 1980s. We relocated
into our new Childcare Centre in December 2007.
- We care for children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years and
provide fulltime, part time and sessional care.
- Our curriculum is Christian-based, and adheres to the guidelines
of the Ministry of Education's Te Whariki Curriculum.
- Our teaching team consists of a very high percentage of teachers
qualified in early childhood education and who hold a Diploma of Early
Childhood Education or a higher qualification.
- We accommodate for the usual routines that children require e.g.
sleeping for babies and young children, toilet training, etc.
- Through the Care and Counselling Centre, we can also offer parents
access to their professional counselling service, food parcel referrals
and well-being, Parenting and Boundaries courses. All these are provided free of charge.
- It is our desire to help children develop a healthy sense of
self-worth. We encourage children
to develop age-appropriate solving skills and to express their unique
God-given creativity.
- We provide an environment that is positive and supportive. This helps children to approach
learning and social opportunities with confidence.
- To help prepare children for school, we provide an Extension
curriculum for our four-year old children.
- We have a heavy focus
on modelling and teaching values such as, courtesy, sharing, forgiveness, and
respect for people, property and the environment.
- We do not charge extra for children under two
years old. These children enjoy a high teacher to child ratio (4
children to one teacher)
- Maximum daily fee applies for those requiring full time care
- Our maximum daily fee is currently capped at $36.00
- We are participating
in the Ministry of Education's "20 Free Hours" childcare
initiative for children aged 3 years and older
- Work and Income Support Childcare Subsidies are available for
families on low incomes. These subsidies paid directly to the
Childcare, significantly reduce the parent fee contribution.
